Food - 5 Service - 5 Ambiance n/a This isn't really a sit down place so no comment on ambiance, it's small and you basically go to order and take out. This is our main bagel stop in NYC, and it's always very solid. Whether you get the bagels with cream cheese or a sandwich, I have yet to be disappointed. I do want to try other bagel places in the city to make a proper comparison. The only place I can really compare to is Bodos in Charlotesville, VA which is in my opinion on par with this place, easily. The perfect bagel to me has the crunch on the outside, but is perfectly chewy on the inside, and Best Bagel has this. There's almost always a line but they are fast and efficient. Located not too far from madison square garden and times sqaure, it is a great spot to get a quick bite before your day.
Line went by quickly even on a busy Sunday brunch time - the menu options (and cream cheese options) are plenty so definitely review in advance! But if you're looking for a recommendation - the Smoked Salmon bagel is a must! They serve so much smoked salmon and pile on the other toppings - thinly sliced purple onions were the underdog in my opinion - for the perfect bite each time.
Pretty good bagels and definitely lots of options on the menu. I had one of the breakfast bagels and it was super filling. Also had another breakfast bagel with an avocado lime cream cheese and it was surprisingly really tasty. Unfortunately like many places there was a long line that moved slowly and the food took long to come out.
In my quest to find the best bagel in the city, I was lead here courtesy of Yelpers. I loved the fact that they had both a cheddar jalapeño AND jalapeño everything bagel (that was a first for me). The employee recommended me going with the cheddar jalapeño so I went for it. I asked for smear suggestions and the bacon honey sriracha came up. I don't actually like sriracha (I don't think it's spicy) but bacon sounded fun; it was also different so why not?! The green coloring of the bagel kind of freaked me out at first. I guess I was assuming pieces of jalapeños baked into the bagel?? Anyway, despite the bagel's coloring it was rather fantastic. At $7, it wasn't cheap but also on par for other bagel shops in Manhattan. The employees work together like a well oiled machine. I'll be back again!
Busy at 8am. Ordering was easy, toasted everything bagel with scallion cream cheese. However, it took forever to get bagel. Not sure what happened but very, very slow for Ny standard. Love hearing the guy yell out orders- he is very good at his job calling and serving out orders when ready. It took atleast ten minutes for bagel. Worth the wait. Delicious and very filling.
Went on a Sunday around 1:30 pm and the place was rightfully busy! Because of that, I did have to wait ~12ish min for my order. I got a Bacon Egg & Cheese on a toasted Everything Bagel and it was delicious! The Everything Bagel was so fragrant, so beware if you eat one before seeing people lol but it was very good. The bacon-to-egg ratio was slightly uneven, but my overall experience was enjoyable nonetheless. Tons of menu items at reasonably affordable prices (given the location). Will surely return for another bagel sandwich!
They literally serve the best bagel in NYC. We came here on a Friday morning and it was packed with people ordering breakfast for takeout or having their breakfast before going to work. They have so many variety of bagels, cream cheese, protein and veggies. They also serve hot and cold coffee, latte, etc. We waited in the lineup to order and it was moving fast and the staff were patiently serving hungry customers. We ordered Poppy Seed bagel with Smoked Salmon, Cream Cheese, Onions, Tomato and Sesame Bagel with egg, Cheddar Cheese and bacon. Our bagels were very delicious and filling. I wish I could've had more.
Worth the hype! Best Bagel & Coffee wasn't very busy on a Monday (late) morning. The interior was small, with two narrow lines - one to order, one to pay. They had pictures of their specialty bagel sandwiches hanging from the ceiling, but also menus on the walls and at the counter. Deciding what to order was a bit overwhelming, since the options were endless and the line moved very quickly. I ended up getting a Sundried Tomato Everything Bagel with Avocado Lime Cream Cheese, Smoked Salmon, Tomato, Onion, and Capers. I also picked up a bottled Peach Oolong Tea. The bagels took longer than I had expected, but they were also filling a lot of mobile orders. Once the food was ready, we snagged one of the outdoor tables, since seating inside was limited. The bagels were massive and fresh, with the perfect dough consistency. I'd never tried Avocado Lime Cream Cheese before, and the flavor was very subtle. The proportions of the everything inside my bagel were perfect, and I could only finish half of it in one sitting. My boyfriend loved his specialty bagel sandwich (don't remember the name), and my friend said her Plain Bagel with Scallion Cream Cheese was also great. Highly recommend!
